Alturas, California
The Modoc Northern Railroad's depot in Alturas is the former Southern Pacific yard office. MNRR crews have been cleaning it up (chasing thousands of hornets out of its environs in the process) and plan to put a new paint job on it during the summer of 2006. In a nod to its heritage, the building will be repainted in its original Southern Pacific depot colors.
