Bloody nose

Modoc Northern Railroad

Photos taken along the line: September 9, 2006

Eastbound at Stukel, 9/9/06.  Is that a steam locomotive?

I saw the smoke from the southside bypass late in the afternoon of the 9th of September.  Of course, I knew that the M.N.RR does not have a steam locomotive, but if I didn't know better, the smoke at the point of a long train would have made me wonder!  No, it's just Lake County Railroad #700.  The old EMD was pulling hard, and showing it, as a Saturday train headed to Tule Lake from Klamath Falls.

The sun was setting as the train rolled through Stukel.
