Chasing a train from Tule Lake to Alturas: Tuber

Heading out for a Saturday of photographic exploration, I didn't expect to find a train.  However, as I entered the north end of Tule Lake, the Modoc Northern's train was just leaving the south end of town for Lakeview. Great timing!   Since I had already planned to take the day off, I ended up chasing the train as far as Alturas.

1011 was on the point running long hood forward with LCRR 700 trailing (looking cleaner than I've ever seen her), and caboose 01480 brought up the rear.  Speaking of clean, it amazes me that almost a year after their paint jobs, the 1011 and 4480 are both still shiny and new-looking!

Enough of the small talk, let's "cut to the chase."

The crew stopped to set out two covered hoppers at Newell Grain Growers at Tuber.
