On March 3, 2007 I was invited to ride along on a run from Tule Lake to Klamath Falls and return. It was a long, and most enjoyable day. Click the images to see a larger version.

Arriving at Tulelake early in the morning. The 700 and her train are waiting for us north of the Main St. crossing where they had been tied down the night before. That's my son-in-law, Trevor VanLeuven, today's Conductor. |
Trevor discusses the day's work with the Engineer. The blue flag on the front coupler of the 1011 indicates it is currently being worked on and is not to be moved. |
In the train office, Trevor calls the dispatcher and reviews today's paperwork and orders. |
While the crew goes about getting things ready to go, I wander a bit and take a few random photos. |

The train has been backed into the Tule Lake yard to add the 1011 onto the point. The sand boxes on the 700 are filled. |
